Cedar Avenue – World’s Longest Tree Lined Avenue

In the Japanese city of Nikko can be found the world’s longest avenue. This fact has been officially registered in the Guinness Book. The total length of Cedar Avenue is thirty seven kilometers.

Besides the length of the alley, its age is also pretty impressive. According to historical records, Cedar Avenue was founded about four hundred years ago. The creation of the avenue took almost twenty years. Initially, there were about twenty thousand trees in it, but over time the number of trees has decreased. Now, the approximate number of cedars along the alley is thirteen thousand.
