Cloned People and the Meaning of Life in Gabriel Aguirre’s Photography

June 27, 2013 | in Photography

Paris-based conceptual photographer Gabriel Aguirre clones people in his photographs showing their movements and steps in a peculiar form of evolution.

The series is called Depliage du soi, which can be roughly translated as Self Unfolding. Since there isn’t much you can understand from this title, here’s an author’s quote: “For countless years, man has searched for the meaning of life, looking for it everywhere possible, such as nature, superstition, even absence… This series of photographs is an interpretation of this search, framed within Golden Ratio relationships, repetitions and oversimplifications.”
