New Zealand Lake Tekapo is the second largest on the Southern island. This place is a photographer’s dream. Snow-capped mountain peaks on the background, the turquoise water of the lake and a tiny church make this place very special.
Everything becomes even more magical, when here in November and December are blooming lupines. These flowers cover the shores of the lake and make the landscape look incredibly colorful and contrasting. The Russell lupine, which is native to this region, reaches the height of five feet. It blooms in all kinds of colors: purple, white, orange, yellow, pink and even two-colored. The Russell Lupine was planted here along the nearby highways. Over time, the plant extended over most of the terrains of this area.
