Colour Pictures of Hitler’s 50 Years Celebration

November 8, 2012 | in Vintage

This day came on April 20, 1939, and it might seem the most significant event in the history of Germany in the last few years.

These pictures were made by one of the Fuhrer’s personal photographers, Hugo Jaeger. Pictures became property of the LIFE magazine after they were captured by American soldiers which scoured the house of the Hitler’s former photographer. In this post you will see how massive the anniversary was. In some way, this is reminiscent of Soviet and North Korean parades. For his anniversary Hitler got an exclusive convertible Volkswagen. It was a gift from Ferdinand Porsche. The leaders of Germany gave him a Condor plane and a large amount of massive and precious gifts which had been exposed for a long time in the Reich Chancellery.
