British artist and sculptor Matthew Chambers works in his small studio in the town of Newport that is located on a small island of Wight in southern England.
The original ceramic works of Matthew Chambers cause quite different associations when viewed. Someone sees a curled up armadillo, someone sees waves closed in a limited space and someone sees something else. It is limited only by the imagination of the viewer. The author does not use preliminary sketches, therefore each project is complete improvisation. Each layer is created separately on the potter’s wheel.
