Each year, on Coney Island is held the so-called Mermaid Parade. This year the parade celebrated its 30-year anniversary. This year’s hurricane damaged a lot the island, but the organizers did not give up.
Using the kickstarter service was raised about $ 100,000 for the event, and the event did happen. All parade participants dressed up as mermaids and other sea creatures, and then they strolled through the streets of Brooklyn. The Mermaid Parade is kind of a tribute and a continuation to the Mardi Gras, which was held here between the 1903th and the 1954th years. Here are some of the brightest pictures of this event.
