Contemporary Edgeland House by Bercy Chen Studio

March 21, 2014 | in Architecture

Designers and architects from Bercy Chen Studio developed an original design of a house in Texas that was named Edgeland House, and its main feature is the integration into the surrounding landscape.

The idea behind this project is that the home represents a healing scar on the surface of the earth. Previously, here was just abandoned wasteland, where was dumped industrial waste. The triangular roof is covered with vegetation, which gives the house a nice feeling of harmony with the nature. The structure of the building was based on one of the most common forms of dwelling of Native Americans. This fact enables to use the soil more efficiently in the warming and the cooling of the house.
