On this not standard project implementation were working architects and designers from the Handel Architects studio. The hotel reconstruction was successfully completed last year. The total project area is more than 17,000 square meters.
Originally, on this place was located an annex of the National Maritime Union of America. In 1970, this organization was disbanded, and until 2006 the building was used in various purposes, until came the idea to create a Maritime Hotel. Today, this twelve-story building in Chelsea offers 316 comfortable guest rooms, two restaurants, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and all that is needed in the infrastructure of a premium class hotel. Especially attracts attention the marine design of the hotel. To build the needed exterior, constructors had to build a huge shield made of stainless steel with round windows, like on most ships.
