Exotic Moths in Jim des Rivieres’ Photography

June 15, 2013 | in Photography

Canada-based photographer Jim des Rivieres got an element of surprise in his new series of photos. Who would have thought that the quite cold Ottawa is home to over three hundred species of butterflies, and really exotic ones.

Jim got interested not just in any kind of butterflies, but specifically in moths (nocturnal butterflies). This passion was born two years ago, when Jim started shooting butterflies and realized that in Ottawa are much more moths than butterflies. That’s the moment when he started shooting these night creatures. The collection of Jim de Rivieres’ photos is now travelling through North American galleries.
