Futuristic Airport Terminal in China

December 24, 2013 | in Architecture

This giant building that has an area of about half million square meters resembles a stingray. You’ll see it for yourself when you look at it closely.

The executor of the project was the Italian architectural studio Fuksas. The estimated cost of the project is nearly $ 1.5 billion. However, given the capacity of the airport (more than 45 million passengers a year), it is totally worth it. The terminal is really colossal; it has a length of about a mile. And this is the first airport in China that is completely solar powered. The maximum power consumption can reach 10 MW.
