When the American artist Robert Wechsler gathers a handful of coins he does not change them or use them in vending machines. He creates sculptures out of them.
Moreover, they aren’t simple sculptures. They are complex-geometry sculptures. He uses all kinds of coins, but mostly he is trying to use coins of the same value for a sculpture. And he does not limit himself to American money, either. In his portfolio are coins from Canada, Hong Kong and even Belize. As the author says, he is trying to awaken the hidden power of everyday objects by challenging stereotypes.
