British artist from Birmingham Simon Hennessey draws hyperrealistic portraits of people. Often, the depicted people are wearing glasses in which can be seen the reflection of some famous landmarks.
Like most artists specialized in hyperrealism, Simon Hennesey begins his work from a photograph. But, unlike other artists, he doesn’t just make a copy of the photograph. He adds or removes some details from the photo. He plays with the depth and textures, and changes the colors, and by this, he creates an illusion of reality that can’t be conveyed through photography. As the author says, the photography for him is just a tool that helps in gathering information.
