The already well-known on the Internet artist Lorenzo Duran has a series of works made by carving leaves, which we want to share with you.
Lorenzo Duran was born in 1969 in a small Spanish town of Caceres. He spent his childhood with his family in Germany, and then returned to Spain. Here he lived until the age of 25, when he decided to retreat away from the bustling metropolis into a calm city of Guadalajara. The leaf carving wasn’t totally his idea, he was inspired by the long-known paper carving technique that is used in China and Japan. Before starting, the selected leaves are washed and dried. In his work, Lorenzo uses a scalpel, and the final touches are performed with a magnifying glass.
