Lucid Stead Installation by Phillip K Smith III

December 3, 2013 | in Architecture

This architectural art installation is called Lucid Stead, and it was designed by Phillip K. Smith III. The project is located in the desert, in Joshua Tree National Park, California.

Phillip K. Smith III managed to revive the deserted landscape and emphasize the nudity of the wasteland by using mirrors, LED lamps and wood. LEDs were needed to highlight the structure at night. The Lucid Stead art installation was created from an old shack in the desert, which stud there for about seventy years. According to Phillip, he just wanted to show the interaction of light, shadows and reflections.
