New Insect Species by Mark Oliver

June 4, 2013 | in Art

At a first glance, you may imagine that you’re looking at real insects that you’ve just never seen before. But look closely. Legs are made from watch movement parts and the body is made from book covers.

Mark Oliver has created a series of unusual insects. For their creation, the author used absolutely everything he could find: pieces of sheet metal, paper, parts of broken mechanisms, pieces of magnets and many more. It is also noteworthy that Mark gave each insect a name based on the parts he used in its creation. The British is certainly not a pioneer of this idea, but his works are definitely worth attention.
