French designer and illustrator Nicolas Obery creates unusual portraits of non-existent human-like creatures using digital technology. Sometimes, Nicolas takes an actual photograph for a basis, and other times he starts from scratch.

There’s not much information about Nicolas Obery, so we should concentrate more on his work. He lives and works in Paris, where he is the head of a design studio. His works have some distinctive features. First, all of his works are exclusively black and white, and second, when looking on his works it is easy to notice author’s passion toward steampunk. One might even call this paintings monochrome steampunk. Nicolas’ works were noticed and published many times by specialized magazines.
