Recreating Mugshots Taken in the Beginning of the Last Century

August 5, 2013 | in Photography

Photography is a great way to document history, but photos imitating mugshots are even more fascinating. More specifically, fascinates the fact that we automatically associate a crime with an image.

UK-based photographer Nick Dolding has created a series of images that look like photographs taken about a century ago. As the author says, he was inspired to create this project by the book Least Wanted by Makr Michaelson. For each photo, Nick used the services of a make-up artist. The wizards of make-up provided a great work of giving the characters an appropriate look: scars, bruises, eye bags and so on. Nick Dolding created a specific world of bootleggers, thieves and prostitutes.
