The river is 138 kilometers long. Two thirds of this length are on the Slovenian territory and one third on Italian. It enters the Adriatic Sea near the town of Monfalco. The Soča river is known due to the movie The Chronicles of Narnia and it is also a good place for extreme sports.
We deliberately used the word emerald in the title. The river has an unofficial name, which is “The Emerald Beauty”. The slopes of the river are very steep, and are considered the most pristine in Europe. It is noteworthy that its emerald color is present on all length of the river. For tourists, the Soča and its surroundings are ideal for mountain biking, rafting, kayaking and other extreme sports.
